Communications
The Glen Carbon Police Department is supported by a state-of-the-art, twenty-four hour telecommunications center. For their safety, officers are continuously monitored via GPS and radio communications. Telecommunications also answers all incoming calls to the police department, and serves as after-hour contact for all Village of Glen Carbon offices.
As a 911 public safety answering point, the center also services the Glen Carbon Fire Department, the Maryville Police Department, the Maryville Fire Department, and recently welcomed Troy Fire Protection District.
A telecommunicator is on-duty at all times. There are five full-time telecommunicators and one Support Service Supervisor, who oversees all daily operations of the center. All call-takers are 911 dispatchers and undergo rigorous training and continued education to ensure the highest level of call control and emergency assistance.
If you have questions or comments about our dispatch center, please contact Support Service Supervisor Coleen Schaller at 288-2627 or cschaller@glen-carbon.il.us
